It finds your TV
The app looks on your Wi-Fi and remembers the TV, so next time it is already there. It uses the player built into the TV, with no box to accept and nothing to set up.
Smooth, not rushed
Picture and sound stay locked together about a second and a half behind your phone. That small cushion absorbs Wi-Fi hiccups, so films and anime keep playing without stutter.
The rooms are built in
The SS World streaming rooms are inside the app. Open a door, and when the page plays a video, one tap sends it straight to the TV at full quality.
Fills the screen
SS Mirror finds the black bars around a film and zooms to the real picture, so a movie on a tall phone fills your TV instead of floating in the middle.
Your phone is the remote
While the TV is playing, the phone's volume buttons move the TV's volume. In Direct mode you can pause, jump 30 seconds and lock the phone.
Install it
- Tap Download on your Android phone. If Chrome asks, tap Download anyway.
- Open the downloaded file. If Android asks, allow your browser to install apps.
- If Play Protect says it doesn't know the app, tap More details, then Install anyway.
- Open SS Mirror with the phone on the same Wi-Fi as the TV. Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi if you have it.
Good to know
- Tested on a 2019 Samsung TV. Other TVs with DLNA should work too, and Samsung sets are the priority.
- Mirroring takes about 8 seconds to start, while a short logo plays on the TV.
- Android asks you to tap Start now each time you mirror. That is a system rule.
- Sound needs the audio permission. The app captures what the phone plays and never opens the microphone.
- Protected apps such as Netflix show black. Android blocks them from any mirroring app.
- The delay is fine for films and live streams, and too long for games.
- Fire TV and Android TV are not supported yet.
